- Sizzling Arrows and Flying Geese
Burgundy to rose, light gray to charcoal, touches of white, and black on black. These are the fabric colors that comprise this quilt.
Just as the name of the quilt suggests, the sizzling arrows are aimed at those flying geese (triangles) who are very busy scattering about the sky in small gaggles to avoid those arrows!
Typically, this kind of quilt would be done in traditional landscape colors; however, the twist in color choices gives this quilt an interesting appeal and suggests a fit for special decor that has similar colors-perhaps a black leather couch with neutral accents would be a perfect home where this quilt would compliment its setting and provide a bit of cozy warmth when needed!
Each of the triangles in the quilt have 4-6 different width stripes to comprise each “goose”. Then two triangles are assembled as a block to create an overall pattern for the blocks when they are assembled. This strip technique was invented and developed by quilt artist and author, Margaret Miller.
Ready to use and easily washed for the added crinkle and texture to continue to enhance the pattern.
