Welcome Home Quilt Wall Hanging

This magnificent wall hanging is very unique, complete with its invitation into a colorful floral entry way!

Complementing nearly 400 hours spend by artist, Cheryl Nielson, hundreds of yards of silk ribbon are used to create details for many of the flowers. You can almost take in the fragrance as you are drawn into the entry way. Many of the flowers also have a “puffy” quality that created extra dimension for the quilt. It’s no wonder that this wall hanging was awarded the “Best of Show” award at the Vallejo, CA Open Studios Show in 2003. (It has taken this long for the artist to be willing to part with this beauty!)

In addition to final touches with fabric paint to enhance detail, the quilt comprises a multitude of carefully selected cotton and silk fabrics and individually appliqued pieces to create the unique reality depicted in this beautiful tapestry.

To accompany the hanging tabs at the top of the quilt, the artist has also supplied a beautiful, sturdy, gold iron rod that that provides the perfect setting for the image in the quilt.
