- Hand-Quilted Amish Wall Hanging
Bold and colorful squares form this rectangular panel that has been hand-quilted by the Amish. Although each block is not pieced together, the combination of the colors and the layout of the pattern make this a striking addition for any wall. Reds, deep pinks, bold blues, greens, and blacks are among the basic colors used by the Amish in many of their traditional quilt designs, so this represents an authentic effort by that culture of women.
As with many of the newer Amish efforts,the fabrics are lighter in weight than the traditional heavy cottons. The colors are not subject to as much fading as the older quilts; and the panels hang lightly as wall hangings.
