Just as the name suggests, the fabrics in this beautiful quilt are jewel-toned batiks that add brilliance to the overall look and design!
The quilter’s home state, Montana, enjoys fame for its sapphire mines and colorful stones that adorn many ring fingers and necklines as pieces of cut jewelry. Take a look at this quilt from afar and just imagine looking into the top of a jewelry chest full of the myriad of sapphire colors that come from the mountains of the state.
Interpreted from a design in the book, Batiks and Beyond, this quilt is comprised of pieces that assemble easily and quickly. The light that exudes from this quilt is the result of the quilt maker’s eye as she chose colors to add a “touch of class” and sparkle to the design itself.
In addition to the beautiful layout of colors in this design, highly skilled artist and quilter, Salena Beckwith, did an magnificent job in the quilt stitching for this piece—the stitching can be seen in the detail images.
Already washed and ready for use, this quilt will fit nicely everywhere-even as a wall hanging on an expansive wall in an office as a focal point!
