Rabbit Retina #1 Art Quilt

Notice the sweeping movements in the fabric on this quilt. It is hand-painted and hand-dyed to be part of a quilt series that takes a microscopic look at the retina of a rabbit’s eye. Intended to be a part of a large series of wall art, this quilt comprises many dye baths and some significant quilting that is extremely detailed and technical. Each quilt is one of a kind and can be purchased individually or more than one can be combined to create a stunning wall display on a large wall or in a contemporary setting for metropolitan home décor.

The Artist’s Statement: "Rabbit Retina 1 is a whole cloth quilt made using a corn dextrin resist on white fabric then over dyed with black dye. It is machine quilted with a black and white variegated thread.

“Rabbit Retina 1 comes from a series on vision and how we perceive people and events around us. Lately, I find myself remembering events from my childhood which I’m not exploring as an adult artist.”
