Wild Poppies Quilt Wall Hanging

The boldness of the colors in this quilt are equal only to the boldness of the poppy fabric print itself!

Red and black polka dot fabric provides the background for the 9-patch units that include the black and red poppy fabric and a clever little geographic print of inter-twined hexagons with olive and beige on black. These nine-patch units are set “on point” with each other, allowing the large poppy print to be the alternating block prints!

The result is bold and dramatic, particularly with the black border and the furrows of quilting that add additional texture and drama to the piece. Not easily seen on the photo is the additional quilting done to emphasize the shaded colors on the poppies to help them “pop”!

The backing for this quilt is also a black fabric with small red poppies and and olive vines that ramble across the fabric.

Ready to hang with the sleeve already attached to the back of the quilt. This quilt would also make a dramatic drape over a sofa where it can be viewed as a whole piece to appreciate the craftspersonship of the artist, Sharon Betts.
