Look carefully at the colorful printed blocks in this quilt. Each is hand quilted by machine in a circular pattern to highlight the print itself.
All are reminiscent of those little prints that our mothers might have had in blouses or skirts; or perhaps our grandmothers had these clever little fabric patterns chosen for their carefully designed aprons or skirts of yesteryear. In any event, make sure you find the little rabbits hidden among the flower and leaf patches in a number of the blocks on the front of the quilt!

A plethora of bright pastel blocks are nicely staged between strips of white fabric containing its own waving quilt lines. The little green squares throughout and the green-on-green print inner border repeat the circular swirls quilted onto the pastel blocks. The outer border—a combination of two white stripes and random patched samples of the blocks—extends to a binding that is carefully hand-stitched to the brightly colored backing.

The backing, with a background of tiny dotted squares creates a momentary “plaid” thought, but upon closer look, the eye sees a light, but bright pastel yellow background color, tiny red dots that form a square to surround a thin-lined orange square. All these colors are accented with tiny bits of teal centers in the squares. Truly a perfect match to the colors on the front of the quilt, this backing is uniquely suited to the show off the delicate swirl design of the hand and machine quilting patterns.

This lovely, cheerful piece would make an excellent bed cover, summer throw on a covered porch, or a brilliant addition to any couch or window seat where the outdoors seems to be welcomed in to join it!

Care for this quilt is simple. You can hand wash and air dry it using detergents that are easy on 100% cotton and bright colors.
