Raffle quilts are made and tickets are sold almost everywhere–at least where ever there is a group of quilters who gather and where ever these people consider offering their talents as a way of raising funds for a worth cause. It’s simply a long-standing tradition to expect to purchase a raffle ticket and, of course, expect to have the winning ticket!
At Quiltkeeper, we are proud to offer raffle quilt tickets to the world! It’s not a common thing to see a quilt being raffled on an internet site, so it’s important to know how this process of ticket purchase works. It’s simple–you see a picture and description of the raffle quilt on the site. You decide to purchase tickets, just as you would purchase any item on the site. The tickets you purchase will each have a unique number that is included in the raffle drawing.
When is the drawing for the winning ticket? Well, it will depend on the quilt, the designated value to the artist, and a deadline date that is set for the drawing. On the deadline date we will have all ticket numbers gathered together, for selection and the winning ticket owner will be announced on the website. The winner of the quilt will be contacted and shipping arrangements for the quilt will be made.
Not only will the winner get a warm cozy quilt to enjoy, there is an added bonus for the new quilt owner! After the expense of the raffle is deducted from the ticket sales, the winner will be asked to select three worthy causes that qualify for a donation from Quilt keeper on the winner’s behalf. So, we’re taking the idea of a local raffle quilt tradition and moving into the worldwide community! We hope you will enjoy this little bit of fun!
