If you have a very special quilt that you absolutely love to wrap around you, let us know!
We bet it’s not always the most beautiful quilt you’ve ever seen, nor will it likely be the family heirloom for generations to come because it’s simply going to wear out before your great granddaughter has a chance to own it! Instead it might be one of those quilts that is faded in a few places, maybethere are a few torn stitches here and thee, and maybe you just love the little quilt “lumps” from the batting that are imperfectly placed to add extra bits of comfort. Maybe you sleep with this quilt, take naps on the sofa with it, or maybe you’re brave and willing to toss it on the ground on a nice summer day as you lay under a tree to have a picnic lunch or to read a book. You MUST have a story for every special quilt you own , and it’s important that your quilt tells its own story back to you. This is what makes those cozy, comfort quilts so special– You talk to each other in such a comforting way!

Then there’s the dramatic, elegant wall hanging– small or large–that adorns the perfect wall space in your home or at the office. These wall hangings are usually an expression of color, texture, and the design or pattern sometimes makes a statement as it enhances its surroundings. We examine these quilts for their design, for their construction, and for the ambiance they create. Something speaks to us when we see the piece of art. Maybe we like the story, or maybe we make up a story. Perhaps we try to just like it for no special reason.

And finally, we often see small art quilts or other quilted objects that just make us want to reach out and touch them. Perhaps they remind us of someone or something and they make us smile.

Quilts touch us with life’s special values in very different ways. How does quality of workmanship factor into what you like? How does color appeal to you? Do you have a favorite quilt design you love to see? Do you get a special feeling when you see a quilt you love?
Do you ever find an old quilt faded and frayed and want to save it? What calls out to you when you find a partial quilt in an antique store or in an old trunk?
Each tells a story, doesn’t it? We would love to hear about a favorite quilt of yours—send us a photo and tell us why the quilt is so special! We’ll match your quilt with a favorite recipe and story of our own so we can continue the chain of love that comes from the quilt maker to the QuiltKeeper and prepares it for the next best place for it to be.
